Lakewood Colorado 500 national, there’s a 200′ down-hill with a road jump across the middle of it. Standing at the top on track-walk with Goat Breker ‘you think we’ll have to jump this?. I hope not.’ I clipped the lower lip and it blew my right hand off the bar and i nose-wheelied to the snow-fence outside of the corner, fun stuff. Magoo really did fly over our heads in races, very scary! Darrell Shultz.

I was 17 years old riding an 83 Cr125 when he crashed and it broke my heart. He was always first to huck a triple or lay it flat over an insane gap. A gifted rider and simply an artist on a dirt bike. I don’t know if anyone will ever be as adored by fans as Magoo. He truly deserved every bit of it. Watching him ride was the thrill of a lifetime.
